With the departure from Aeroparque of flight AR1682 Aerolineas and Austral will recommence their service to San Carlos de Bariloche on Friday 13th January 2012. This service has been suspended since 4/6/11 due to the hazardous conditions generated by the eruption of the Peyehue volcano, and refurbishment work at the airport’s terminal building.
Recent reports prepared by the aeronautical authorities confirm that safety standards are within the required flying conditions demanded by Aerolineas and Austral, and therefore flight AR1682 can recommence flying to Bariloche from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery tomorrow at 11.00hrs.
The national minister of tourism, Mr. Enrique Meyer, will be on board this flight and will re-open the refurbished terminal after landing. Aerolineas and Austral had to divert for more than 220 days all their Bariloche flights to Neuquen and Esquel airports during the suspension of flights due to volcanic ash; and both companies had also to organise connecting transport by coach to and from Bariloche for all their passengers.
