US Airways has been awarded Airfinance Journal’s Airline Treasury Team of the Year 2011. The airline’s treasury team was awarded at Airfinance Journal’s 32nd Annual New York Airfinance Conference for their efforts in completing several creative transactions to finance the acquisition of aircraft and to raise capital.
“We are pleased to be recognized by Airfinance Journal for the efforts of the US Airways treasury team and our aircraft financing transactions,” said US Airways Vice President and Treasurer, Tom Weir. “Thanks to our dedicated team’s innovative approach we were able to secure financing with favorable terms from diverse funding sources, each of which provides the airline with future flexibility.”
US Airways was also awarded Airfinance Journal’s North American Deal of the Year for 2011. The award was given for financing of four of the airline’s 12 Airbus aircraft delivered last year.
